Here are some films passed down to posterity that embody the rebellious spirit in their own way: the famous “Rebel Without a Cause” (The Fury of Living) – This cinema classic features James Dean in the role of Jim Stark, a teenager rebel who challenges authority and fights against the social pressures of his time. More recent but totally in the spirit of “Trainspotting”, a cult film by Danny Boyle which follows a group of young Scottish people who live a life of debauchery, drug addiction and disillusionment in the streets of Edinburgh. It offers a provocative and raw look at rebellious youth. My favorite, “Fight Club”, directed by David Fincher, this film explores notions of masculinity, mass consumption and disillusionment through the story of a man (played by Edward Norton) who finds an outlet in a club underground fighter led by Tyler Durden (played by Brad Pitt). The essential “Thelma & Louise”, a road movie directed by Ridley Scott which follows two women, Thelma and Louise, played respectively by Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, who flee the authorities after an act of self-defense and discover a new freedom in their leak.

But also and above all “Easy Rider”, this iconic 1969 film follows two bikers, played by Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, who cross the United States in search of freedom and meaning. He is considered a symbol of the counterculture of the 1960s and can be said to have single-handedly invented the “Ride Alone” trend.
